Job description

Within the framework of a project in Romania, we are looking for a skilled Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to act as the day-to-day interface with our clients helping to drive projects to achieve an excellent outcome. You will have worked on major industrial technical projects. You will specialize in contract cost planning, estimating activities, commercial management and will bring your practical expertise and best practice experience and BE comfortable operating in a client-facing role, leading project teams and managing difficult stakeholders. 

You will work in close collaboration with the Project Manager based in France.

As such, you will carry out the following missions:

  • Issuing variations (Preparing variation documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation)
  • Ensuring the organization’s internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained
  • Follow any contractual aspects and contractual communication with the client
  • Tracking changes to the design or method of working and adjusting budget projections accordingly
  • Validation of payments to subcontractors and client
  • Liaising with the client and other, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers
  • Selecting and sourcing local subcontractors
  • planning and coordinating a project from start to finish, including organizing the schedule of work,
  • ensuring the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
  • maintaining regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project
  • communicating with any subcontractors, supervisors, planners, and others involved in the project
  • dealing with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project
  • Assisting/following in the preparation of subcontract packages
  • Managing time extensions
  • Supervising contract execution to ensure compliance with specification

Profile required

You are degree qualified in General Engineering, you speak Romanian and English (French is plus).

Your qualifications and experience :

- Experience of leading cost management on medium or large sized construction projects of medium to high complexity.
- Experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
- Good knowledge of automation industry technical matters.
- Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Great organizational skills; ability to multi-task (know how to manage your priorities) and be a team player.
