About the Role

This role is responsible for the design, development, optimisation, and commissioning of automated production systems within Alstef’s baggage and material-handling operations. You’ll apply your engineering expertise to improve system performance, reliability, and safety through the development and integration of PLC software and control solutions.

Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you’ll support major airport automation projects, ensuring seamless system delivery from design through to commissioning and handover.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated control systems, including PLC programming, to enhance production efficiency and reliability

  • Analyse and refine production processes, identifying automation opportunities and implementing improvements

  • Commission and test automation systems to ensure compliance with functional and performance specifications

  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and operations teams to deliver integrated automation solutions

  • Prepare design documentation, test procedures, and technical reports to support project delivery and compliance

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to Alstef’s culture of innovation and quality

Profile required

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Experience in PLC programming (Rockwell, Omron, Siemens, or equivalent)

  • Hands-on experience with automation system commissioning and fault-finding

  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, electrical safety, and quality standards

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
