Based in Auckland, NZ, and reporting to the Procurement Manager APAC, the Procurement Specialist role will be an integral hands-on role that will work in global cross-functional teams with project directors, project managers, suppliers, engineering, procurement team and other external/internal stakeholders to drive impactful initiatives that result in reduced supply-risk, increased supply-agility, and project savings.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on procurement activities
- negotiate contracts/agreements with subcontrators as well as critical or high-risk suppliers
- purchasing activieis for projects such as raising PO's and following up on orders
- Develop and maintain approved supplier list
- Monitor supplier performance including quality, cost and delivery
- Provide backup logisitics support such as arranging domestic and international shipments

Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role you will need a process driven approach to work, and be confident with your planning and organisation skills. You will have at least 5 years experience in procurement ideally with at least 2 years working in a project procurement role, and be able to show strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or related fields
- Professional knowledge of the industrial automation, and its purchasing practices preferred
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and influence at all levels.
