About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer (Automation and Control Engineer) to take on a fulfilling role at Alstef Group, with opportunities for both personal and professional development. You will be confident in demonstrating your practical expertise along with innovation, communication, and leadership.
Duties:
- Plans, directs and coordinates the design, modification, continued performance and maintenance of equipment and machines at Australian airports as part of government mandated equipment-upgrading projects
- Assist in the maintenance of production automation systems, minimising disruptions to operations.
- Identify and effectively manage risks during system upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Provide end user support in a prompt and professional manner, resolving issues efficiently.
- Develop comprehensive design requirement documentation and meticulous test procedures.
- Develop and review functional statements, organisational charts and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of project staff and to identify areas of duplication
- Analyse workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data and production schedules and costs, to determine optimum staff and equipment efficiencies
- Organise and manage project staff
- Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations

Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
Applicant must have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification experience
Skills
- Proactive and committed approach to the establishment of an environment of service excellence and ethics in all areas of the business
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in PLC and SCADA software desirable
- Previous experience with baggage or material handling systems is preferred but not required
