As sales design engineer you will work as part of a collaborative team to provide technical design solutions for baggage handling systems during the sales stage, working closely with the sales team, estimators, and other engineering disciplines to understand the client’s requirements and develop a solution that best meets their needs.
- Prepare conceptual designs and sales layouts in AutoCAD quickly and efficiently within tender deadlines
- Prepare technical descriptions of the proposed solution, and help the wider team with customer solution presentations
- Occasional domestic and international travel for site visits to verify and gather information
- Analyse tender and opportunity requirements against product range, industry and local standards

Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role you will need a process driven approach to work, and be confident with your planning and organisation skills. You will have experience with Computer Aided Design tools ideally AutoCAD & Navis works and be able to show strong communication and negotiation skills, and be able to work well in the ever changing world of projects.
You will already have the legal right to work in New Zealand and your skillset should include the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Previous material handling system/belt conveyors experience preferred but not required
- Medium competency in MS Office suite including Word, Powerpoint and Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
