The maintenance technician is responsible for providing the technical support needed to deploy the company's baggage sorting system. He is also responsible for diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operations.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on the various pieces of equipment in the baggage sorting system and on any other equipment available to the company;
- Perform mechanical and electrical work, such as checking motors, gearboxes, belts, roller and bearing inspections, oil changes, cleaning, etc. ;
- Reload programs into PLCs and drives;
- Align, calibrate the various types of sensors present in the installations;
- Read, understand and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams of conveyor systems;
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults by identifying the causes of problems and proposing appropriate solutions;
- Work closely with operations and the automation group;
- Document maintenance work in accordance with established procedures, e.g. by filling in work orders in the CMMS computer system;
- Comply with established rules and procedures (health and safety, 5S, etc.);
- Be actively involved in continuous improvement;
- Carry out any other tasks and responsibilities that may be requested by his immediate supervisor.
Profile required
- College degree in Electromechanics of Automated Systems, or in Design (Mechanical Engineering Technology), or Industrial Electronics Technology, or in Manufacturing - Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanics Technology, or vocational diploma in Industrial Mechanics for Construction and Maintenance, or any related training;
- 1 year of relevant experience in the field will be considered an asset (new graduates will be gladly considered);
- Interest in mechanical and electrical fields;
- Ability to use various hand tools;
- Good analytical skills;
- Judgment and resourcefulness;
- Good knowledge of MS-Office suite;
- Team spirit;
- Rigorous and methodical;
- The position requires availability 1 weekend out of 2, 80 hours per 2 weeks, 10 hours per day;
- Ability to travel to customers from time to time;
- French language an asset.
