Your mission?

As Managing Director for Eastern Europe, you will be in charge of leading all the activities of Alstef Group in Eastern Europe. More precisely, you will be expected to :

  • Meet the financial and commercial objectives of our existing businesses in the area (Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia)
  • Achieve the satisfaction of our existing airport clients in the area (Zagreb, Sofia, Bucharest, Belgrade)
  • Provide support to commercial activities in order to find new customers and respond to tenders for new projects or maintenance contracts in Eastern Europe (including but not only in the four countries where we are already present)
  • Support the delivery of our ongoing projects for new baggage handling systems in the area, in coordination with the teams in France, and in particular those of Sofia, Belgrade and Bucharest
  • Ensure the recruitment, training and operational excellence of the personnel who maintain and operate the baggage handling systems in the airports in the region, and in particular those of Zagreb, Bucharest and Sofia

To achieve these missions, close, constructive and proactive coordination with the Head Office in France will be required.

The presence of Alstef Group in the region is recent (except in Zagreb), with new subsidiaries recently created and in full growth. To begin with, the role will mostly be about:

  • Coordinating with France to ensure local vendors and Alstef Group personnel operate safely and effectively on projects
  • Preparing the ramp up of maintenance and operations on those new baggage handling systems once installed, by recruiting and training local personnel
  • Monitoring the operation and availability of the systems once in operation with a view to constantly develop and improve their performance
  • Ensuring the highest quality of information, professionalism, image and communications for our clients.
  • As our footprint grows in Eastern Europe and neighboring areas, a geographical extension of the role could be considered

Who are you?

You have an engineering or technical background and a solid experience in contract management and the management of maintenance / operational personnel in the industrial sector (ideally in the airport sector or in logistics).

Having responsibility of several projects individually worth 5 to 20 million Euros, and leading a team of 50 people with a technical profile is not a problem. You have already managed projects and staff in multiple locations, ideally even in multiple countries.

You have a growth mindset and are able to identify, chase and support initiatives to grow your business’ footprint and sales.

Your personal qualities include autonomy, self-discipline and motivation. You are also capable of motivating projects and maintenance personnel to achieve their objectives.

We are also looking for a person who is capable of managing a relationship with clients over time:

- You develop the respect and trust of customers through your competencies and your ability to manage the operations and development of complex facilities

- You propose new ideas to solve tense situations, and maintain a proactive attitude to promote new services or new solutions

- You know how to maximize the profitability of contracts while maintaining a very good relationship with customers

You would ideally be based in Sofia (Bulgaria) and speak Bulgarian.

Fluency in English is required. As this position covers several countries, fluency in Romanian or other Eastern European languages would be appreciated.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

  • Permanent full-time contract
  • Executive status
  • Remuneration based on profile
  • An industrial international group in rapid growth, with exciting technology
  • A challenge: take control of recent subsidiaries in the area, help them grow to become a dominant player in Eastern Europe
