This Project Estimator role in our Tendering department is an essential cog in the wheel of our Automation business. They will manage the preparation of estimates, work programmes, cash flows and contract conditions review at the time of tender.
In conjunction with the Estimation Team Leader and Tendering Manager, prepare tender submissions and proposals in the format required by the tender documents.

Key tasks for this role entail:
COSTING
-
Ensuring accurate cost estimation, without errors at time of sign off

Proper planning and execution of tenders. This includes effective coordination/follow up with other members of the Bid Team to ensure tender process is completed in a timely manner

Effective communication with Estimation Team Leader and other stakeholders on all matters

Develop full understanding of the costing model. Bring to the attention of the Tendering Manager any fallacies/ improvements to ensure smooth tender process

Projects are tendered in accordance with company priorities, as amended by Senior Management

Completing bill of quantities and technical offers with timely reporting
ESTIMATING

Ensure scope of supply matches the scope of work detailed in the contract documents and compliance matrix

Prepare documents to enable suppliers and subcontractors to provide prices during the tender period. Ensure estimation is based on receipt of real pricing from suitable contractors.

Build key relationships with suppliers ensuring that all costs are competitive

Prepare work schedule, and cash flow when pricing is complete. Based on the cash flow review the contract terms of payment

Liaise closely with internal stakeholders (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Planning, Project, Manufacturing, etc.) to resolve issues and obtain costing from their departments

Assess commercial requirements (bonding, insurance, retentions)
TENDER SUBMISSION

Assists Estimation Team Leader and Tendering Manager to ensure that all parts of the Requests for Proposal (RFP) are attended to

In conjunction with the Estimation Team Leader, Bid and Tendering Manager and in coordination with the Bid team / Department Managers ensure all technical submissions are carefully prepared.

Complete Bills of Quantities and/or form of tender
If you have an Engineering Qualification or several years' experience working in an Engineering environment and estimating experience, we would love to hear from you !
Profile required
- - Appropriate Tertiary Engineering Qualification or equivalent level experience ( 5+ years )
- - Estimating experience
- - Quantity Surveying Qualification and experience
- - Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel, Project and Outlook
- - CAD experience to interpret drawings/BOMs
- - Familiarity with tender documents and quoting
- - Supply chain management including offshore
- - Formulation and development of costing templates
- - Commercial acumen
- - Excellent planning and organising skills
- - Excellent communicator both verbal and written
