This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer based in Sydney to be part of an international group. This role will see you assisting in the electrical design for Materials Handling Systems, MCP and software sub-contracts along with managing the procurement of all electrical goods on projects and providing technical help to the Project Management team during the installation portion of the project.
A Summary of Key Tasks:
- Produce Field Device Layouts
- Undertake electrical design calculations.
- Produce Electrical Schematics in accordance with Contract specifications and Local standards.
- Produce test and commissioning documentation.
- Compile Operation and Maintenance Manuals
- Produce Motor Control Panel Layout drawings.
- Produce Single-line diagrams for LV Power Distribution
- Assist the Project Managers in the electrical installation tender process, issuing technical, specifications and drawings and answering technical questions.
- Ensure electrical wiring and assembly of motor control panels and control stations is in accordance with supplied electrical schematics.
- Maintain up to date time recording in Work Bench
- Maintain and encourage existing and new methods and practices.
About You – Skills, Experience and Requirements
To be considered for this role you must be eligible to work in Australia and your current skill set will include the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering
- Membership of IEAust highly regarded but not mandatory.
- A working knowledge of EPlan or AutoCAD, PLC Programming packages (Rockwell, Omron and Siemens preferred), and SCADA packages (Iconix or Ifix preferred)
- Experience using Work Bench, Visual Basic and Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Access, Project)
- Experience with Baggage or Material Handling Systems preferred but not mandatory.
- Capable of reading, understanding and developing electrical circuits
- A working knowledge and understanding of the requirements of AS/NZ3000 or equivalent international wiring standards and regulations.
- Ability to work with commercially sensitive and confidential information excising the highest degree of discretion.
- Demonstrated experience in Electrical and Controls design.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Fluent in English especially for technical matters
