This is an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor based in Brisbane. This position will lead to personal development opportunities that are gained as being part of an international group.

The HSE Advisor role is to advice, support and partner in line with project managers and workers to deliver health, safety and environmental strategies, initiatives and activities.

A Summary of Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring HSE processes on site to ensure compliance with national standards.
  • Ensure risk management and site safety compliance is maintained and recorded. Make recommendations for further improvement.
  • Review the circumstances of any work injury, illness and dangerous events, identify any corrective action and request any additional resources or assistance required to undertake this corrective action.
  • Encourage maximum reporting of incidents, and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure all incidents are openly, accurately and timely recorded and reported.
  • Supervising the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions including reporting of identified hazards and appropriate risk control measures to the heads of department.

Profile required

To be considered for this role you must have the legal right to work in Australia and your current skill set will include the following:

  • Preferred tertiary qualification in workplace health and safety.
  • Experience in delivering workplace training.
  • 3-5 years' workplace experience
  • Relevant experience in conducting safety inspections, audits, leading incident investigations and reporting safety related matters.
  • Current knowledge of OH&S legislation and practices
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
