About the Role:

As Mechanical Design Engineer you will provide mechanical layout design support to the Projects team, while working closely with the other engineering disciplines to ensure multi-disciplinary integrated engineering solutions.

 

  • Generate detailed system layout drawings tailored for unique, project-specific requirements, with a focus on optimizing manufacturing processes for efficiency
  • Design of support steel from calculations to detailed drawings for conveyor support structures
  • Update designs and drawings as part of the As-Built submission, reflecting adjustments and changes made during installation, contributing to the final project documentation
  • Carry out site visits as required to survey and verify architectural and other building services drawings supplied by the client 
  • Produce BOMs and manifests for manufacturing and procurement purposes

Profile required

Skills & Experience

You'll need to bring a specific set of skills, experience, and qualities to the table. Here's what we're looking for:

 

  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in Mechanical Design or BIM, within Baggage Handling Systems
  • Relevant tertiary level qualification in Mechanical Design or Industrial Automation
  • Strong technical systems experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks and other relevant software
  • Previous experience working in medium-to-large-scale projects
  • Ability to present complex technical data in an insightful, succinct, and professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with others at all levels
  • Experience working as part of a team with the ability to build strong, positive relationships and to work with multiple stakeholders
