About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the negotiation, management and execution of contracts to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and support the organisation’s strategic goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial support to the legal team for pre-contract negotiations during tendering activities, ensuring accurate, compliant, workable agreements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, ensuring all contracts comply with relevant legal, regulatory and organisational standards
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing and payment schedules, while ensuring agreements with clients or suppliers align with a company's goals
  • Manage contract lifecycles, including renewals, amendments, and terminations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align contract terms with business objectives
  • Identify contract risks and propose amendments to protect company interests
  • Support and in some cases lead resolution of external contract-related issues
  • Maintain records and documentation for contracts and related correspondence
  • Monitor vendor and supplier performance to ensure adherence to agreed terms

Profile required

As an experienced Contracts professional, you will apply best practice contract management, sound financial management and apply key negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. Your proactive nature and meticulous approach, along with your great attention to detail will help you drive greater performance outcomes that will see value, efficiencies and returns.

 

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification
  • 10+ years of experience as a Contracts Manager, ideally within Engineering Management, Construction or Infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of contract law and industry regulations
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in business software or related tools
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • You must have permanent work rights in New Zealand
