Post description
We are seeking an experienced Senior People & Culture Advisor to join our team in this hands-on role.
Reporting to the P&C Manager APAC, this is a true generalist role where you will provide support across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to performance, development and offboarding. You will lead and support employee relations matters, contribute to change initiatives and help ensure people practices are fair, consistent and aligned with New Zealand employment legislation and organisational values.
Alongside advisory work, you will play an important role in maintaining and improving People & Culture systems, reporting and processes, using data and insights to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement. You will also contribute to People & Culture projects and initiatives that enhance capability, engagement and organisational effectiveness.
About the role
- Partner with managers to provide trusted People & Culture advice across the employee lifecycle
- Act as a subject matter expert on New Zealand employment legislation, policies and best practice
- Support and manage employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations and change processes
- Build leadership capability through coaching and practical guidance
- Provide generalist HR support including; employment documentation, onboarding/offboarding activities and policy implementation
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and provide people reporting
- Contribute to People & Culture projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Profile required
About you
This role would suit a confident HR professional who thrives in a generalist support role and can deliver practical, commercially focused people solutions. You can communicate clearly and credibly with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, and can influence outcomes through strong relationships and well-considered advice. You’re also systems-savvy and detail-oriented, with experience working with HRIS platforms, reporting and process improvement.
You will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial & Organisational Psychology or similar
- 5+ years’ experience in a HR advisory or generalist role
- Strong knowledge & understanding of New Zealand employment relations legislation and practical application
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
- Strong technical capability, with experience using MS Office suit and HRIS platforms
- Sound commercial acumen and understanding of how HR contributes to business success
