About the role

As Trade Assistant, you will work as part of our team at Brisbane Airport tohelp manage the operations and maintenance of the baggage system. You will have a proactive approach to work and enjoy a fast paced working environment. On the job training will be provided so that you are equipped to do your job to the best of your ability.

  • Daily Maintenance: You'll play a crucial role in maintaining our equipment through preventive, reactive, and corrective maintenance, keeping everything running smoothly.

  • Tools and Materials Caretaker: Maintain our tools and materials, ensuring they're in great working condition and ready for use whenever necessary.

  • Knowledge Sharing Champion: Guide our staff and stakeholders on our system, sharing insights and expertise to enhance the team's collective understanding.

  • Responding with Precision: Handle emergency tasks swiftly and effectively, showcasing your ability to stay composed and take decisive action when needed.

Please note: This role operates on a 24/7 roster, therefore shift work is a requirement in this role. 12 hour shifts (6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, 4 days on 4 days off pattern) so you must be comfortable and able to work on a shift roster.

Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role you should bring the following skills, experience and attributes, along with the right to work in Australia:

  • Mechanical maintenance experience

  • Experience with the mechanical aspects of a conveyor system or other similar equipment desired

  • Good computer literacy

  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve

  • Demonstrate work ethic and time management skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills
