Alstef Group has an opening for a Project Engineer in our Quakertown, PA office.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring the mechanical and electrical system designs are completed to meet customer requirements. The Project Engineer coordinates activities within the engineering department for assigned projects.
Profile required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate engineering project team to create design documents (drawings). Monitor progress and status.
- Acts as the prime engineering representative on project team. Report status to project manager and engineering manager.
- Create engineering documentation including, but not limited to, detailed engineering drawings, layout drawings, and specifications for equipment and system function.
- Responsible for document control for project drawings (prior to drawing release).
- Conduct design review meetings.
- Review engineering documents for accuracy and adherence to requirements.
- Assist the sales team by developing concepts for customer proposals including, but not limited to, the conceptual system design, preliminary layout drawings, pricing of the proposed system, and responding in written form to address the needs of the proposal.
- Issue purchase requisitions and work orders to the materials team for engineered items.
- Arrange and/or conduct site surveys (conveyor integration projects).
- Answer questions from other functions pertaining to engineering documentation.
- Create spare parts lists when part of SOW. Identify spare parts for engineered items.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field of study.
- 5-7 years of experience in material handling and/or with industrial automation system integration projects is a must.
- Experience interfacing with customers.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Solid understanding of system integration, mechanical engineering, automation, and industrial controls.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and lead an engineering team.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Available to travel up to 25%.
