At Alstef Group, we don't just maintain baggage handling systems, we help keep airports operating.

We're looking for an Operations Day Assistant to join our Brisbane Airport Operations & Maintenance team. Working alongside experienced technicians and operational leaders, you'll play an important role in ensuring one of Australia's busiest airports continues running safely, efficiently and reliably.

 

About the Role

As an Operations Day Assistant, you'll:

  •  Support the day-to-day operation of Brisbane Airport's baggage handling system

  • Assist the Team Leader with daily operational activities

  • Safely respond to and clear baggage jams to minimise disruption

  • Monitor system performance and support efficient airport operations

  • Complete work orders and operational records

  • Assist with inventory and stores management

  • Collect operational data and prepare reports

  • Maintain housekeeping standards across operational and control room areas

  • Work collaboratively with technicians and operational teams

  • Champion safe work practices and contribute to a positive team culture 

Work Schedule: This role involves working rostered shift’; 4 days on and 4 days off - 12 hour shifts, offering variety and flexibility in your routine.

Profile required

About You

You're someone who enjoys practical work, stays calm under pressure and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves. You'll also bring:

  • Experience in operations, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, maintenance or industrial environments

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Fit, with the ability

Important note: This position includes manual handling as an inherent requirement of the role. Duties include lifting, carrying, loading, and moving equipment and materials, with some items weighing up to 40 kg. You must be able to safely perform these tasks, in accordance with safe manual handling practices.
