About the role:

The Project Financial Controller will work closely with the Project Director APAC and Project Managers to maintain the financial integrity of projects across the APAC region, ensuring accurate and transparent financial data to support informed planning and decision-making.

This role involves developing cost tracking processes, analysing and reporting on variances to forecasts and supporting the completion of claims and variations. 

Other key responsibilities:

  • Manage financial compliance and assist with audits related to project finances across APAC

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations (QBCC, AASB, IFRS) and company policies, through ownership of the Project Trust Account

  • Assist with internal and external audits 

  • Support the Project teams with the valuation and submission of monthly claims

  • Maintain and update the project cashflow forecast on a monthly basis

  • Coordinate accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely approval and processing of invoices

Profile required

Skills & Experience

You will have a collaborative approach in order to work closely with PM's, Engineers, and senior leaders to provide timely insights and influence sound decision-making. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced project environment. Equally important are problem-solving skills and sound judgement, enabling you to proactively identify risks, challenge assumptions and recommend practical solutions while maintaining a high level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Previous experience working in a Financial role within a Project environment

  • Relevant tertiary qualification is a must and a professional accounting certification (CA/CPA) is advantageous

  • Familiarity with Workbench Project Management Software (advantageous)

  • Strong commercial awareness and acumen

  • Confident communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial audiences
